A Kid Helping Kids – student-led fundraiser

October 31, 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians;

Ventura Park Public School is having a fundraiser for The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) through a community fundraiser called A Kid Helping Kids. This fundraiser is led by one of our very own students in grade 6, Lexx, and the help of the student council, supervised by Mme Dakran.

Because of the support Sick Kids receives from A Kid Helping Kids and community initiatives like it, important advances have been made in child health research, new life-saving medical equipment has been purchased for our clinics and operating rooms, and our young patients continue to receive the best care that science, technology, and compassion have to offer – here in Toronto and around the world.

In order to ensure success, A Kid Helping Kids requires support from companies, organizations, and individuals who share their vision and hope for improved child health. It is my hope that you will consider supporting this initiative. Your commitment will not only ensure that A Kid Helping Kids is a fundraising success, it will also make a real difference in the lives of children today and for generations to come.

Lexx has been working hard with several companies that have generously donated the following items:

-four $5 gift cards to Yogurty’s

-a $25 gift card to Marble Slab Creamery

-package: two youth and two adult all-day passes to the Ripley’s Aquarium of Toronto ($100 value)

-$50 gift card to Vaughan Mills Mall

and more!

Between October 31 and November 18, for every $5 that you donate to SickKids, your child’s name will be entered for a chance to win one of the above prizes (e.g. $10=2 entries). Please send your donations, in cash or cheque, to school with your child to their homeroom teacher. All cheques are payable to “SickKids Foundation”. If you would like a tax receipt for $20 or more, please send a note with the donation that includes your full name and email address.

Your child is responsible to enter their name into the raffle for every $5 that they donate. Thank you for helping Ventura Park Public School contribute to this wonderful cause.

Sincerely,

Arin Otis

Principal
