Cross Country Team brings Home 3 Pennants!!

The cross country team recently participated in the area meet this past week. We had yet another successful meet. Runners were grouped by gender and age group. Some groups had up to 160 runners in their division. Team scores were calculated by tabulating the top 4 finishers for each school within an age group and gender. Here were our team results:

Grade 4 Girls >> 3rd place

Grade 4 Boys >> 1st place

Grade 5 Girls >> 1st place

Grade 6 Boys >> 2nd place

Grade 7 Boys >> 3rd place

Junior Division Overall >> 1st place

Intermediate Division Overall >> 2nd place

On top of some spectacular team performances, we also had many great individual performances. The following students have qualified for the cross country regional meet next week for having finished their race in the top 15. Reminder that these races had up to 160 runners running in them. In total we had 18 athletes qualify for the regionals.

Congratulation to all cross country athletes. Not only did they perform very well, but they demonstrated exceptional behavior while at the meet. They represented our school and community with great pride. We overheard many other coaches talk about how well rounded our athletes were because they showed tremendous sportsmanship, model behavior and fiercely competitive. We couldn’t be any more proud of our athletes!!!!!

Rescheduled Bill Crothers S.S. Info Night

Grade 8 Parents:

The Bill Crothers S.S. Information Night has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 17th.

Bill Crothers Secondary School (BCSS) is a system-wide school with a focus on healthy active living and sport. The school is open for Grade 9 to 12 students. Students and parents from across the region are invited to attend an information evening. Information will be shared regarding the vision, mission, schedule, programs, the transfer policy, and application process.

Successful School Council Meeting!

Thank you to all of those that attended our first School Council Meeting last night. It was a very successful evening.
For those that missed the first meeting but are interested in attending meetings in the future, below are the details. All parents are welcomed!

School Council Meetings for 2019-2020 are scheduled at 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. as follows:

  • Monday November 18th, 2019
  • Monday February 3rd, 2019
  • Monday April 6th, 2019
  • Monday June 8th, 2019

Reminder: Religious Holiday

Many of our families will be observing Yom Kippur tomorrow.  Just a reminder that if you are keeping your children home on this day, please notify the school by entering the absence in Edsby.  This can be done as early as today.  If you have not reported the absence, we will have to call tomorrow to confirm that your child is home safe.  You can avoid this disruption by being sure to report the absence ahead of time.  Thanks in advance for your assistance!
