Message from Our Lunchtime Program Provider TenTen Sports

Hello Everyone,
Its wonderful news that restrictions are being eased in Canada, and many places around the world. However, we are still restricted to spending time at home and that is why TenTen Sports has created an exciting activity for you and your family to enjoy.
Our video: TenTen Kitchen Drumming Tutorial is a fun and fundamental drumming lesson taught by a world class drummer making use of a few household items.
Have an awesome time drumming, feel free to share the video and please become a subscriber to TenTen on YouTube.
We are feeling confident that our TenTen programs will run, live and in person in the not so distant future. Stay Tuned and Stay Well.
Best Regards,
The TenTen Team

Message from Our Lunchtime Program Provider TenTen Sports

Hello To You All
We hope you are well and coping as best as possible.
Over the last 18 years, the TenTen focus has been to enrich kids lives through sport.  We are passionate about physical wellness, and we also know the benefits of physical wellbeing on mental wellness.  Right now, we all need to focus on both.
So, in keeping with our commitment to making activity fun and engaging, we have created for you the (free)
TenTen 10 Obstacle Challenge. Each obstacle is demonstrated in the attached video. The Challenge is active and fun for kids and for parents too. It may even become part of your daily routine.
The TenTen Obstacle Challenge is ideal for 4 to 12-year olds and can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors. All you need to make this successful are a few household items as explained in the video, as well as a wonderfully positive attitude! The challenge can be done in a limited space in an apartment, basement, living room, backyard or on a deck.
There is no right or wrong way in performing the challenge other than doing your best and having a blast.
It would be amazing for parents, and siblings to join in too. Try and time yourselves accomplishing all 10 challenges from start to finish. Do it often and see if you can beat your times.  Have a family challenge.
We would love to hear from you, so please visit our website
www.tentenkidssports.com and let us know how you enjoyed the challenges and if YOU have any suggestions for further challenges please send them to us.  Even send us your videos.
Share the challenge with family and friends wherever they may be in the world.  Grandparents in isolation would particularly enjoy watching footage of you engaging in this challenge.
We will continue to release more of these fun and unique videos in the next few weeks. Stay tuned! All the staff are looking forward to getting back to doing what we at TenTen Kids Sports enjoy most, which is working with, and enriching the lives of kids through sport.Take care, be safe and stay positive.

The TenTen Team.

Message from Vaughan Public Library

In mid-March Vaughan Public Libraries temporarily closed its branches in the interests of public health. While their physical locations are not currently open, they’re still able to provide a vast array of resources to the public, and during this time they’ve extended their collection, borrowing limits and added a wide range of online programming. Many of these items can supplement learning at home, or keep children of all ages entertained. They also offer materials and programming in both English and French.

They are able to offer FREE audiobooks, e-books, learning courses and more, all of which can be accessed at www.vaughanpl.info. Just click on the GET STARTED button in the middle of your screen to see the services they have available separated by age group. To borrow items from the library, you will need a library card, and if you do not have one, you can receive a temporary digital online by visiting www.vaughanpl.info/online_registration

Grade 8 Graduation

Dear Grade 8 Parents & Students,

Thank you for your patience as we continue to monitor the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on our community and how it might affect previously scheduled school events.

As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve on a daily basis, our top priority during this challenging time remains the health and safety of our students and staff.

It is therefore with much regret and after careful consideration, that we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Grade 8 graduation that was scheduled for June 16th, 2020.

The postponement of this event is in line with measures currently being taken by health authorities and various levels of government to stop the spread of COVID-19.

We will plan to recognize this important milestone in the fall, and will be in contact with you when we have the details.

We recognize that this is disappointing news. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work through this evolving situation.

Sincerely,

Greg Farrell & Mary MacKeracher
