Important Information Regarding VPPS School Buses!

Please see the message from our Transportation Department:

Good morning,

As I’m sure some of you are aware, there is a full road closure of Major Mackenzie Dr just east of Avro Rd/McNaughton Rd and it is causing delays to some of our school routes.

Because this is a main arterial roadway, it is impacting routes that not only service stops in the area but also need to travel through the area to get from one school run to another.  So even if your school does not have stops/students here, you may still be impacted depending on an earlier school run that operates in the area.

We have asked the bus companies to let us know if there are any major concerns and will continue to send daily reminders to have the delays posted on the Late Bus Report (as I know some were missed this morning & yesterday).

We expect to experience delays until the end of the school year, but please let me know if you are experiencing major concerns with a particular route.   Unfortunately, the detour options are limited in this area and the buses are travelling with all the rest of the traffic that is using the same detours.
