Ventura Park Viking Dominate West Area Cross-Country!!!

Congratulations to our 55 Cross Country Runners who represented VPPS with pride, sportsmanship, and complete Awesomeness yesterday at Concord Regional Park for the CEC West Area Cross Country Meet.  A special thank you to our dedicated coaches, Mme Forde, M. Arro, and M. Babin, who accompanied our runners, after several weeks of coaching during lunch hour practices.

The following individual names below and the students part of the teams below have qualified for Regionals Cross Country on Tuesday October 16th at the ROC in Keswick. 45 of our 55 runners have qualified for the Regional Meet.

The school cross country team participated in the area cross country meet yesterday and had a dominant day of competition. A lot of the races had as many as 130 runners competing, running races anywhere from 1.6 km to 2.6 km.

The following students had great independent results earning themselves a ribbon for finishing in the top 15 in their respective categories.

We also had great team performances. The following teams also qualified for Regionals, by placing top three in the team category

–      Grade 4 Girls (1st place)

–      Grade 4 Boys (2nd place)

–      Grade 5 Boys (2nd place)

–      Grade 6 Boys (3rd Place)

–      Grade 7 Girls (3rd Place)

–      Grade 7 Boys (1st Place)

In total we earned three pennants for our girls grade 4 and their first place finish, and the grade 7 boys first place finish.

We also earned a pennant for being the top overall Jr. team beating out all other 22 schools. This is a huge accomplishment and we are extremely proud of all our athletes.
