Vikings Basketball Update

Girls Basketball

On Tuesday, February 21st, the Intermediate Girls Basketball team participated in the Area Qualifiers at Charlton. They won 3 of their games and came in 2nd place moving them onto the Area Finals. On Thursday, February 23rd, the team played in the Area Finals at Charlton. They demonstrated amazing teamwork and sportsmanship. They won 2 of their games and came in 3rd place (out of 6 teams). Mme. Forde and Ms. McMurray are so proud of the effort that the girls put in this season.

Boys Basketball

On Wednesday, Feb. 22nd, the Intermediate Boys Basketball team participated in the area qualifying tournament which concluded their season. The boys competed ferociously and demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship. Even though the competition was very good, the boys maintained a positive attitude and approached defeat with humour. We might not have been the most talented team at the tournament, but we were definitely the most joyful and good spirited athletes there! Mr. Babin and Mme Forde are very proud of the perseverance they demonstrated.

Congratulations to both teams, and thanks to the parents for supporting our players by driving them to tournaments and cheering on the players.  A very special thank you to our amazing coaches – Mme Forde, Ms. McMurray, and Mr. Babin. Go Vikings go!

VPPS Intermediate Science Fair – Wednesday February 22, 2017

The inaugural Ventura Park P. S. Science Fair is here! On Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017, over 20 teams of intermediate students will be presenting their personal scientific investigations in the library. We are very proud of the hard work our students have put into their projects, and are eager to share their projects with the community. Parents are invited to view student projects between 1:40pm and 3:00pm in the library on Wednesday, February 22nd.  Any questions should be directed to Mme DiLucia, our Science Fair Organizer! daniella.dilucia@yrdsb.ca
