VPPS Pumpkin Patch!

VPPS’ butterfly garden was transformed into a pumpkin patch this fall! (see picture below)

Mme Matthews’ grade 2 art class made pumpkin artworks which then “grew” in our garden.

Class 2A was able to celebrate Halloween in the garden and to sing songs around their pumpkin patch.

The groundskeepers are very happy that other classes enjoy the garden as much as they do.

VPPS Comes 2nd at the York Region Tree Bee!!!

VPPS participated in the York Region Tree Bee Tuesday night in Newmarket. Our amazing Nature Squad was a team of grade 4 and 5 students: Avery, Dianna, Rem, Wendy, and Bella. They spent the past few weeks learning how to identify trees and all about forestry in Canada. On the evening of the competition, our team demonstrated leadership and collaboration while identifying 30 trees and answering 30 questions about forest conservation in half an hour! Their tremendous effort resulted in 2nd place among 7 schools and 3rd place among 12 teams. Bravo et bon travail, Nature Squad and Mme Walters and Mme Hoo!!!
