Reporting Absences via EDSBY

Did you know that parents and guardians can use Edsby to report an absence for a child?  If you have activated your EDSBY account, you can login to EDSBY and report your child’s absence online.  You can access an online video tutorial to learn more about how to do this.

You would have received an invitation email from the York Region District School Board to create an EDSBY account earlier in the year.  Please contact the school office (905.707.6488) if you would like to have an invitation reissued.

Regular and punctual attendance affects school success and is expected of all students. It is important that students, families and school staff work together to ensure regular attendance.  Please remember you are required to notify the school as soon as possible if your child will be absent or late.  Families can still continue to report absences until the end of this school year by phone at 1-855-203-2994.

All School Buses and Taxis are Cancelled for Today, MONDAY APRIL 16, 2018

Inclement Weather Today

Good Morning VPPS!

Due to continued weather warnings issued by Environment Canada and poor driving conditions, school bus and taxi transportation in York Region has been cancelled for today, MONDAY APRIL 16, 2018.

The school remains open today – but there will be no buses or taxis to or from VPPS this morning or this afternoon. Remember that when buses are cancelled in the morning, they do not run in the afternoon.  If you choose to drive your child(ren) to school today, please make sure you can pick them up at 3:20 pm.  Dismissal for students will occur as follows:

  1. All students who walk to and from VPPS will be dismissed at 3:20 pm
  2. All students in Grades 1, 2, and 3 will be dismissed from the GYM at 3:20 pm
  3. All students in Grades 4 & 5 will be dismissed from the Library at 3:20 pm
  4. All students in Grades 6, 7, & 8 will be dismissed from the Staff Room at 3:20 pm

For those who are walking, please be very careful and give cars extra space for stopping and turning.  Furthermore, the Grade 4 classes who were scheduled to visit the ROM today will have their trip rescheduled.  Further details will be shared with parents and guardians of Grade 4 students later today.
