A few further reminders about Friday’s Spirit Day:

• Costumes that represent Indigenous peoples in Canada should not be worn. This devalues the culture and lived experiences of Indigenous peoples.
• All costumes should be respectful of others. Symbols or objects representative of a person’s culture or religious beliefs should not be worn as another person’s costume. Costumes that caricature social identities through stereotyping should not be worn.
• Due to Health & Safety precautions for Covid-19:
  • Students will not be permitted to use the washrooms to change into their costumes. Students wishing to wear costumes are asked to come dressed in them for the day.
  • Students may bring their own snacks.
  • Students will remain with their homeroom classes for any activities.
