Hello VPPS Families,

Everyone’s a winner at VPPS! Today at VPPS approximately 35 golden tickets were handed out to students who will be in our end of year talent show. Everyone’s a winner, but not everyone could be in the end of year talent show. A big thank you to all of the students who auditioned and the talent show committee, which is comprised of students and teachers. Stay tuned for further information, dates and times of our show.

International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia

The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia marks its 20th year with the goal of raising awareness of LGBTQ+ equality and engaging in constructive and positive public dialogue to counter homophobic and transphobic behavior. The day is held every year on May 17 and has become an international event.

The day is organized by Fondation Emergence, a Montreal-Based non-profit organization with a national and international scope, created in 2000, whose mission is to fight homophobia and transphobia, to promote inclusion and to defend the rights of the LGBTQ+ people. Why is this day held on May 17? Because it was on this date, in 1990, that homosexuality was removed from the World Health Organization (WHO) list of mental illnesses. So we commemorate this important victory.
