Now that winter is upon us, we are reaching out to stress the importance of appropriate clothing during the winter season.

Safety with Weather

·        Send your children dressed for the weather as we are outside for close to an hour each day (as temperatures and/or wind chill approach -20 degrees Celsius or below, we will follow the extreme cold weather guidelines and consider shortening recesses or keep students indoors)

·        Send your children with shoes for indoors and boots for outdoors to keep our classes and gym slip free and feet warm outside

·        Make sure your children have extra clothing in their classroom in case they get wet (socks, pants, shirts, sweatshirts, etc.)

Topic: Violence Prevention Training on Student Safety and Violent Incident Prevention

Description: Staff will be engaging in learning related to:

● developing relationships and identity-affirming working and learning environments;

● identifying warning signs that a person’s behaviour may be escalating;

● responding to escalations using specific strategies;

● exploring case studies;

● following reporting procedures; and

● accessing support and resources.

Length: Half Day – PM

Topic: Literacy/Mathematics Instructional Strategies
