Parent-Teacher Interviews Open in Edsby Today.

Parent-Teacher interview schedule(s) are now open for booking.  Later this morning, an invitation/link will be sent to your Edsby inbox with a notification.

Reminder: You will ONLY be able to book appointments with your child’s homeroom teacher.  If you would like to meet with a rotary teacher, we ask you to contact the teacher directly via email to see if they have times left.

Families who have created an Edsby account prior to the schedule being opened on November 12th will have access. For help signing up for Parent-Teacher interviews/Student Led Conferences, please visit http://bit.ly/ptifamily.

Every Student Counts Survey 2018-2019

Student voice is important to us here at VPPS. From November 12 to 30, 2018, the York Region District School Board will invite all students to participate in the Every Student Counts Survey (ESCS).

The purpose of this census survey is to better understand YRDSB’s diverse student population as well as students’ experiences in school and outside of school. The survey results will be used to help improve our schools and to:

  • Identify and eliminate systemic barriers to student success;

  • Create more equitable and inclusive school environments; and,

  • Improve student achievement and well-being.

All students will be given the opportunity to participate.

  • For students in Grade 1 to Grade 6, the survey will be sent home to be completed with a parent/guardian

  • Students in Grades 7 and 8 will be invited to complete the census at school.

The Every Student Counts Survey (ESCS) is confidential but not anonymous. To ensure confidentiality, no directly identifying information (such as student name) will be on the survey. As one of the main purposes of the survey is to identify and eliminate systemic barriers to student success, all surveys will include a unique code that will be used to link the survey data with student achievement data.  Survey results will only be reported in aggregate form (grouped data only) and no individual students will be identified. A summary of the results will be available at schools and on the board web page in Spring 2019.

EDSBY Set-Up – Necessary for Parent-Teacher Interviews (November 22 & 23)

Good morning Awesome VPPS Parents & Guardians:

Just a friendly reminder to set-up your Edsby account before Monday November 12, 2018.

Families will need to create an Edsby account to access the online appointment scheduler for their child’s teachers for Parent Teacher Interviews on November 22 (pm) and November 23 (am). Only families who create an Edsby account prior to the schedule being opened on November 12th will have access. For help signing up for Parent-Teacher interviews/Student Led Conferences, please visit http://bit.ly/ptifamily.

The server name to associate your Edsby account with is YRDSB.

If you have yet to receive your email invite to join Edsby, please email Kavitha Sivakumar  at kavitha.sivakumar@yrdsb.ca to forward you the invitation so you can get started.

Please note: you will be able to book appointments with your child’s homeroom teacher ONLY.  If you would like to meet with a rotary teacher, we ask you to contact the teacher directly via email to see if they have times left.

We encourage you to bring your child(ren) with you to meet with their teacher at your scheduled time.

Parent-Teacher interview schedules open at 9:00 am on November 12 for booking.  An invitation/link will be sent to your Edsby inbox with a notification.

In addition to booking Parent-Teacher interviews, you may use Edsby for notifying the school of any student absences.
