The York Region District School Board Information Technology services is currently working to reset all students GAPPS account and passwords for students at VPPS.

The new passwords will be shared with our teaching staff, who will confidentially provide them to students as soon as possible.

If your child is not able to receive the new password, please ask them to contact their classroom teacher for the information.

Elementary Vice-Principal Appointments

That Wendy Dicker, Teacher at Ventura Park Public School, be appointed as Acting Vice-Principal at Hartman Public School, effective February 28, 2019.

On behalf of the entire student, staff, and parent community here at VPPS, our sincerest congratulations are extended to Mme Dicker on this outstanding accomplishment!

Parents of students in SK who are interested in attending Grade 1 French Immersion, and who are living in the Forest Run, Carrville Mills, Thornhill Woods, Bakersfield, and Wilshire school areas, are invited to attend an information session at Ventura Park @ 7 pm in the Gym.

This is a reminder that Friday January 18th, is a P.A. Day for all Elementary YRDSB students.  There are no classes for students on Friday.  Teachers will be at school working on Term 1 Report Cards.

This year at Ventura, we will be hosting a Mental Health Week! Given that Mental Health is often discussed with Bell Lets Talk during the month of January, we found it an opportune time to host our very own Mental Health week at Ventura Park! Mental Health Week will be held from Monday January 14th – Thursday January 17th, 2019.

The Health and Wellness Committee has decided to host this Mental health Week in order to raise awareness of mental health. On each day of the week, there will be one proposed activity designed to help students better address their mental health. The activities entail practicing gratefulness and mindfulness, as well as continuing on our shared journey of better addressing our mental health.

Welcome back families and welcome to 2019 at Ventura Park.  Over the month of January, we have so much going on, including:

1. Thursday January 17 @ 7 pm @ Ventura Park (in the gym) is Grade 1 French Immersion Parent information night for parents of current SK students in any of our feeder schools, who wish to attend Ventura Park P.S. for September 2019;

2. Thursday January 17 @ 6:30 pm; Grade 7 & 8 students are invited to WILSHIRE ES to attend an information session with Ms. Sheri Epstein, Principal of Westmount C.I.  NOTE:  ONLY THOSE STUDENTS LIVING IN THE WESTMOUNT AREA ARE ABLE TO ATTEND, AS WESTMOUNT IS CLOSED TO OUT OF AREA TRANSFERS;

3. Friday January 18 – PA Day; There are NO CLASSES for students on this date. Teachers will be working on Assessment and Report Cards;

4. WEDNESDAY JANUARY 30 – RAPTORS 905 GAME @ 11 AM

5. There are still a few tickets remaining for the Raptors 905 game.  Tickets can be purchased on SCHOOL CASH ONLINE. Ticket includes transportation to and from the Paramount Centre in Mississauga.  All participants will be back at VPPS before the regular dismissal time.

6. Pizza (including Gluten Free) and Sub Lunches are available for purchase until January 20, 2019. Late orders cannot be accommodated.
