MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT IS POSTPONED DUE TO A POWER OUTAGE!

Good afternoon Parents and Guardians of VPPS students;

Due to a Power Outage in the Area near the school, MEET THE TEACHER Night is POSTPONED for tonight, WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2017.  Power Stream has informed us that power will be out until around 10 pm tonight.  By 6:30 pm, the original start time, the building and portapack will be too dark for people to safely travel around.

The Staff will meet tomorrow morning to choose a new MEET THE TEACHER Night in the very near future.  Once we have selected our new night, we will send a post to our community.

MEET THE TEACHER – REMINDER…Wednesday September 27, 2017 – 6:30 pm – 8 pm

VPPS invites parents and guardians to Meet the Teacher at Ventura Park, on Wednesday September 27, 2017 between 6:30 – 8 pm.  The following is the format for many classes for the evening:

  1. *Session 1 – 6:30 pm – 7 pm
  2. *Session 2 – 7 pm – 7:30 pm
  3. *Session 3 – 7:30 pm – 8 pm

*All times are approximate.

The purpose of 3 sessions is to accommodate families with more than 1 student at the school.  If your child’s teachers have a different format for the evening, information will be forwarded to you via the teachers.

Furthermore, Lost and Found from last year will be on display in the foyer.  Any items with name labels have been placed on the tables for parents to peruse and gather.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday evening for our Meet the Teacher evening. Please remember to observe all parking signs in the area, and only park where permitted, including side streets adjacent to the school property.

Student Absences – Religious Holidays

Dear Parents/Guardians;

We recognize that many of our students will be away from school over the new 2 days to celebrate Rosh Hashanah.  We want to wish those families who are celebrating a Shana Tova.  If you know that your child will be absent on Thursday September 21, and/or Friday September 22, please be sure to use the Safe Arrival Program.  If you require reminders for the process of reporting absences, please see the instructions below.

VPPS Kids are Totally Awesome!!!

This past summer, VPPS Grade 2 student Daniel Pugach had a very successful series of Chess accomplishments.

Daniel’s journey began after qualifying for the Canadian National Youth Chess Championship in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.  He qualified for the National Championships after he won a local Youth Club Chess tournament in Markham.  By winning the Markham tournament, Daniel took part in the U8 Nationals from July 6 – 10 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Daniel competed in the CYCC Tournament, becoming one of the youngest and best Canadian chess players in the U8 age group!

Bravo Daniel, et felicitations!!!

Meet the Teacher @ VPPS – Wednesday September 27, 2017 (6:30 – 8 pm)

All Staff and Students at Ventura Park PS invite you to join us for our Annual Meet the Teacher Evening on Wednesday September 27, 2017 from 6:30 – 8 pm.  The purpose of the evening is for you to have an opportunity to meet your child (ren) ‘s teachers face to face.

The evening is divided into 3 sessions so that parents may have an opportunity to meet all of their child (ren) ‘s teachers.  Your child’s teachers will be sending out information to you over the course of the next few days with specific details!
